Get to know The Yoga Barre: An interview with Nicole Moran.

Tell us your backstory: What was your path to owning a business in Del Mar Village? Did you grow up here? Why did you choose Del Mar Village to set up shop?

Growing up in Southern California between SD and OC, I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the small Hallmark town feeling of Del Mar. After teaching in the fitness industry for over 25 years and opening my first studio in Temecula about 6 years ago, I now have the honor and privilege to open my second location here. I currently live in Del Mar and I'm so excited to be able to give back to this amazing community and show them some love!

Tell us about your business. What should people know about it? What makes it unique?

We are a small woman-owned hot yoga and fitness studio, and proud of it. Our studio is brand new, top of the line and beautiful. We are located in the plaza and right outside our doors are incredible views of the ocean. You won't find a franchise or big box gym experience here - we put in the extra effort and attention to detail so that you can get the best out of every class. Come and see for yourself!

What are most known for or is particularly special to you?

We are most known for having the best instructors. Experienced, knowledgeable and fun. One class and you’ll notice a difference!

Tell us one fun fact about your business most people don't know.

On top of having hot yoga and barre classes, we are so excited to announce our new Del Mar inspired classes: “Surfers Yoga” and “Power-House Power Yoga”! “Surfers Yoga” is for surfers wanting to Hang Ten longer on their log or level up their high performance shortboard game. The class isn’t just for surfers, it’s for anyone wanting to improve strength, balance and flexibility. “Power House Yoga” named after our local beach park will be a high intensity extended duration class designed for seasoned yogi’s looking for a challenge.

What do you love about Del Mar Village?

Everything! The people, beaches, restaurants, concerts in the park, the lights during the holidays, the small town vibe!

How would you spend the perfect day in Del Mar? Where would you go? What would you eat or do?

My perfect day includes my bestie, Bentley (my Wheaton Terrier)! We start off with a nice long walk on the beach, then head up to Tamarindo for some tacos (the gang there loves Bentley! ).
