“Keep Del Mar Green” Community Cleanup
With a ribbon cutting for Del Mar’s new water bottle fill stations, plus a celebratory pancake brunch
Saturday, April 19, 2025, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Join Us for a Special Earth Week Community Clean-Up in Del Mar!
In celebration of Earth Week, the Del Mar Village Association (DMVA) invites you to take part in our “Keep Del Mar Green” community clean-up event! Together, we’ll protect our beautiful coastline, support sustainability, and make a lasting impact on our environment.
We'll meet at the 17th Street Del Mar Lifeguard Station before spreading out across the beach, parks, and nearby streets to collect litter that would otherwise pollute our precious waterways. To make your efforts even more rewarding, the Del Mar Lifeguards will treat our volunteers to a delicious pancake breakfast, with ingredients generously donated by Mission Fed Credit Union, Poseidon and Better Buzz.
During the cleanup, we’ll use baskets from the Del Mar ShoreSaver Program—a pioneering environmental initiative led by DMVA in partnership with the City of Del Mar, EDCO, and Relic Coastal Collaborative—designed to keep our beaches pristine while promoting ecological health.
We can’t wait to see you there—let’s keep Del Mar green!

With support from the City of Del Mar, DMVA has replaced six coastal drinking fountains with water bottle fill stations that also feature drinking fountains, dog bowls, and foot washing stations, depending on the location. DMVA will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate this milestone sustainability effort at Del Mar’s beaches, limiting single-use plastics and keeping them out of our precious waterways.

Through innovative solutions, community engagement, and proactive stewardship, DMVA, in partnership with the City of Del Mar, EDCO, and Relic’s Coastal Collaborative, aims to help reduce beach pollution, foster environmental awareness, and cultivate a sustainable future for our coastline, ensuring it remains a cherished resource for future generations.
